Melissa Henderson is a senior healthcare compliance executive and currently serves as Senior Director, Compliance – Financial Oversight at CareSource, where she oversees financial compliance across all lines of business and all CareSource markets, including Medicaid, Medicare, and Marketplace products. In this role, she is responsible for enterprise‑wide financial compliance strategy, regulatory adherence, and oversight of complex, multi‑state operations.

Previously, Melissa served in executive leadership roles with Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC), now CareSource, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Since joining the organization in 2019, she played a key role in building and stabilizing operational infrastructure, strengthening leadership teams, and advancing the maturity of legal and compliance programs to support sustainable growth and regulatory excellence. From 2022 through the end of 2024, Melissa also served as President of the Common Ground Healthcare Foundation, which was established to advance the organization’s mission of enhancing health and prosperity in the communities where members live, work, learn, and play.

Across her career, Melissa has demonstrated a strong record of strategic execution, process innovation, and continual improvement, supported by deep expertise in individual health insurance coverage, Medicaid, and other government programs. She is known for her principled leadership and commitment to serving members with honesty, fairness, and accountability.

Prior to joining CGHC and CareSource, Melissa held leadership roles at Molina Healthcare and the State of Wisconsin, where she focused on improving access to affordable, high‑quality healthcare.
