WISHIN is poised to assist Wisconsin pharmacists and payers as pharmacists expand their role as non-physician providers.
Andy Wheaton, Pharm D, MBA, is the Director of Pharmacy Benefits for Network Health. Network Health offers several Pharmacy Plans that include comprehensive drug coverage for its more than 150,000 members. Those members have access to an extensive pharmacy network. “I use WISHIN quite often,” Wheaton said. Network Health, according to Wheaton, uses all available resources to gather as much information about its members as possible. “From time to time, we have to dig a little deeper searching for lab work. The lab information from WISHIN is helpful.”
Wheaton says other data from WISHIN benefits Network Health and its members. “Maybe a medication dose changed and we can’t get the information in the EMR. Now we have WISHIN data. WISHIN helps us close gaps and address members’ questions. We can see their records and support them from the pharmacy side.”
Wheaton says WISHIN is user-friendly and responsive. He says when Network Health reached out to ask about quicker refreshment of data, “WISHIN worked with us to get data refreshed in real-time.”
Wheaton appreciates the growth in the number of provider groups joining WISHIN. “It’s super beneficial for us to get more and more data from the provider groups. It helps us to be better involved in members’ care.”
