While the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS) provides statistical information about EMS services, it does not provide medical histories of patients. Recently, WISHIN created an automated bi-directional integration with ImageTrend to exchange ADT data and ePCRs from the Milwaukee Fire Department. Following a hospital encounter, WISHIN shares hospital outcome data to the Milwaukee Fire Department via ImageTrend.

EMS providers rely on information from hospitals to file billing claims to receive reimbursement for their services.
