Ban the Fax

Fax machines were practical, convenient, and popular in the 1980s. You know what else was popular in the 1980s? VCRs, boomboxes, portable cassette players, and pagers. Who can forget The Clapper? Clap on. Clap off. Great stuff 40 years ago. Not so great today. Technology has evolved to the point where many of those items are now obsolete, or at the very least, far less practical, convenient, and popular.

WISHIN believes it is time to ‘Ban the Fax!’

“Pharmacists need clinical information. We need lab values. We need the goals from their primary care physician. And prior to something like WISHIN, the way to get that information was fragmented, usually via fax. It always took a while to get and when you see how easy and quick and intuitive it is to access that data on WISHIN, you will absolutely see an increase in those enhanced services provided to some of the neediest members in Wisconsin.”

Kyle Beyer, Owner of North Shore Pharmacy

WISHIN is in the business of transmitting health records seamlessly and safely among healthcare providers and payors. With more than 2,215 participants in the network, healthcare providers, payors, pharmacists, EMS, and many others are ditching the fax and opting into WISHIN to send and receive patient information.

“Accessing the patient information we need without WISHIN would just take a lot more time.”

Ashley Palen, Director of Community and Environmental Services with the West Allis Health Department

Remaining fax users say secure document transition is essential. WISHIN agrees. WISHIN provides secure document transition – keeping EHR data electronic and secure – without the inconvenience of the fax machine. No more fax machine noise. No more replacing the fax paper. Out with the dedicated phone lines and costs. Long gone are the days of patient information sitting on an insecure fax machine! More space in the office when the fax machine is gone.

“WISHIN is unique and indispensable to us. I would definitely say that WISHIN is worth every penny.”

Erik Rhine, Revenue Cycle Coordinator at Bell Ambulance
